Whether you're fine-tuning your aim or enjoying a day with friends, our shooting sports facilities offer something for everyone. Take on our sporting clays course or spend time at the shooting range, all while enjoying the scenic surroundings and welcoming atmosphere of Buffalo Nickel Lodge.
1-Mile Shooting Range
Our outdoor range, features a shooting building equipped with 10 double benches, accommodating 10 shooters at a time. Rifle, optics, shooting bags, and instruction are all provided by us. We have multiple animal-shaped steel targets that range from 50 yards to 1 mile (yes, you read that correctly – 1 mile) to help you hone your skills.
If you would like to bring your own guns, including handguns, this is fine. Please be sure to bring ammunition for these guns
10 Station Sporting Clays Course
Our 10 station sporting clays course is suitable for all shooting ability levels, ranging from beginner to advanced. Choose from our 20 or 12 gauge over/under shotguns, and get ready to challenge yourself.

Age Limit All ages – anyone under 21 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
What's Included Firearms, optics, ammunition depending on package, & eye/ear protection Basic instruction is provided by our staff. Additional Ammunition can be purchased on-site.
How to Dress & Prepare Wear comfortable clothing & closed toe shoes. Keep in mind when dressing that it is usually windy in Kansas.
FAQS • Can I bring my own firearm? Yes. We only carry 6.5 Creedmoor 140gr on the Rifle Range. We carry 12 and 20 gauge target loads for the Sporting Clays. So please bring your own ammo if your firearm requires something different. Firearms will be stored in our secure locker room. • What if I have never shot a gun? Not a problem – our staff will cater to your ability level. • What is the noise level? Guns are loud, so we require all guests to wear ear protection – either ear plugs or muffs. • How safe is it? As with any shooting activity, risks are involved. We have implemented strict safety rules and guidelines that are enforced by our staff in order to mitigate risk. • Can I just observe? Yes.
